Uses
The tools and systems powering my work — from mobile automation frameworks to AI-assisted development workflows. Practical, opinionated choices with reasoning behind each.
Project & Team Management
JIRA — Sprint planning, bug tracking, epic management. The source of truth for everything the squad is working on.
Confluence — Documentation. QA artifacts, runbooks, post-mortem records. If it’s not written down, it didn’t happen.
GitLab — Version control, CI/CD pipelines, and merge request tracking. We run all our automation gates here.
Slack — Team communication. I’m a big advocate for async-first communication with clear escalation paths for urgent issues.
Engineering & Automation
Appium — The backbone of our mobile automation suite. Cross-platform coverage for Android and iOS from a single codebase.
Python — My preferred language for automation scripting. Readable, fast to iterate, and the team can all contribute.
Postman — API testing and documentation. Combined with JMeter for performance and load scenarios.
BrowserStack — Real device testing. Non-negotiable for mobile automation in a market with diverse device fragmentation.
JMeter — Load and performance testing. Essential for validating the platform before major events (Eid, promotions, etc.).
AI & Productivity
GitHub Copilot — AI-assisted coding. Particularly useful for boilerplate and test case generation first drafts.
Claude / ChatGPT — For writing, analysis, and thought partnership on engineering decisions. I treat LLMs as a thinking partner, not an answer machine.
Notion — Personal knowledge management and writing drafts.
Leadership Tools
Loom — Async video updates for stakeholders. Much more efficient than scheduling a call for status updates.
Linear — When I need lightweight issue tracking outside JIRA’s enterprise overhead.
Miro — Online whiteboarding for architecture discussions and retrospectives.
Learning
ISTQB Materials — Always have the Foundation and Advanced Level materials bookmarked. Quality principles age well.
Y Combinator Startup School — The Startup School 2022 curriculum shaped how I think about building and scaling products.
LinkedIn Learning — The Product Masterclass series and leadership courses I’ve completed are listed on my profile.
